The Grizzlies U16s got that winning feeling back on Saturday 8th March, as they ran out 64-33 winners against Liverpool Black.
It was an even game in the first quarter - Liverpool settled quickly with a patient passing game that got rewards, but the Grizzlies were hitting baskets playing at a good pace and finished the quarter 14-10 up.
Q2 was another good battle between the teams, with the team showing great finishing, but just as they were opening up a strong lead Liverpool scored a dramatic half-court buzzer beater to give them hope, as the teams went into half-time with the Grizzlies 27-20 up.
Q3 saw the Grizzlies step up a gear, looking dangerous on drives, strong on rebounds, taking advantage of fouls by sinking a string of free-throws and hitting shots from distance - all while pressing well defensively to force errors and keep the Liverpool attack quiet. The Grizzlies finished the quarter in control at 47-24.
Even though Liverpool kept going and got some reward in Q4, the Grizzlies kept their foot on the gas, continuing to cause problems on drives and countering well to score a further 17 pts to close out the game and secure a great 64-33 victory.
MVP: Josh Leah

MVP was awarded to Josh Leah. In addition to playing a great pressing game, Josh's drives were a thorn in the side to Liverpool throughout the game - getting the Grizzlies 11pts and forcing multiple fouls.
