The Grizzlies U14s squad took on Hanley Husters for Game 6 of their WGNL season, which was to be their final game of 2024.
It was Hanley who raced into an early lead, and were able to reach half time with a 22pt lead, giving the Grizzlies a mountain to climb in the 2nd half.
The young Grizzlies came out the blocks fast in Q3, passing much better and taking their chances, but Hanley were able to do enough to maintain a lead and the game finished 26-44.
The result leaves the Grizzlies with a very respectable 3-3-0 record in the WGNL at U14s level, placed 4th in the league going into 2025.
Coach Tom Watson was pleased with the attitude shown by his team; “We gave it everything in the second half, after a tough opening for us. Even though we couldn’t come back this time, the players did themselves proud against strong opposition.”
MVP: Jasmine Mollart
The match MVP was awarded to Jasmine Mollart, who had a superb game for the Grizzlies, putting all her training into practice with an all-action performance making excellent decisions round the court.
