NWRL - MANCHESTER MAGIC 3 VS GRIZZLIES

The U14s Grizzlies travelled to Manchester to take on Manchester Magic III in the North West Regional League (NWRL) on Saturday 15th December.

The Grizzlies started fast, getting quick points in transition and making the Magic take tough shots. In the second quarter the pace slowed and with it the scoring slowing down, and the HT break saw the score at an even 24-23.

The third quarter started quite physically with the Grizzlies struggling to keep the pace they set in the first quarter, and Magic were able to capitalise and push ahead. In the fourth the Grizzlies put in a lot of effort but couldn’t close the gap, and the game finished 58-43 to the Magic.

Coach Lewis Brisco was pleased with the performance despite the defeat; “We showed today we can be a match for anyone and looked dangerous every time we went forward.  Credit to Magic for changing tactics after half time though to halt us – we’ll learn from this and go again next game.”

MVP: Henry Tonge

Match MVP went to Henry Tonge, who hit nine baskets and was a constant threat for the Grizzlies.
