The Grizzlies made the trip up to Bury to take on the Lancashire Spinners in the North West Regional League, looking for their 3rd win in the competition.
The Grizzlies made a slow start to the game and found baskets hard to come by in the first two quarters. The Spinners capitalised by racing into a strong lead at half time.
A pep talk by Coach Tom Watson at half time saw the team play with a lot more aggression at the start of the 2nd half, and the Grizzlies began pass the ball better and take their chances at the basket. However, the Lancashire Spinners remained a danger throughout and were able to hold off the Grizzlies comeback to close out the game to take the 49-24 win.
Coach Tom Watson remained positive despite the result; “We showed in the second half that we’re a good team when we stepped up the pace it caused them real problems. But the slow start cost us today and we left ourselves with a mountain to climb.”
MVP: Will Boxford

MVP was awarded to Will Boxford, who led the charge in the second half as the Grizzlies looked to come back.
