WGNL - GRIZZLIES VS NBN

On Sunday 17th November the Grizzlies U14s took on NBN in the WeGotNext League, looking to make it back-to-back wins in the WGNL under Coach Lewis, and 3 wins in a row in all competitions.

The game began quite slowly with both teams finding baskets tricky to come by, but once both teams settled into a rhythm the baskets soon started to drop, and it was the Grizzlies that went into H/T with a narrow 14-10 lead.

However, the Grizzlies dealt with the press a lot better after the break and were also able to effectively play their own press to steal in to score a flurry of baskets - and began building a healthy lead, taking their chances well.

In the 4th quarter, the Grizzlies rebounded well and broke confidently to add further baskets and saw out the game well to take the win, final score 44-14.

U14s Assistant Coach Lewis Brisco was delighted with the result and performance; “We took a little time to settle and NBN gave us a real game in the first half, but we changed our approach after the break to press higher and it paid off well.  The whole team put on a top performance defensively, and once we relaxed the players showed some excellent finishing.”

MVP was awarded to Isabelle O’Gara, who once again showed great shooting accuracy to help secure the win.
