The Congleton Grizzlies delivered a commanding performance to defeat the Reddock Rockets 51-18, controlling the game from the opening tip to the final buzzer.
The Grizzlies dominated the first quarter, establishing a 12-4 lead with relentless defensive pressure and efficient offense. The second quarter saw the Rockets try to respond, but the Grizzlies extended their lead to 22-12 at halftime, fueled by disciplined defense and quick transition play.
The third quarter was a turning point, as Congleton completely shut out the Rockets while adding 15 unanswered points to take a 37-12 lead. Their defensive effort forced multiple turnovers and rushed shots, while their offense continued to execute effectively. In the final quarter, the Grizzlies added 14 more points, with contributions from their bench players helping to seal the emphatic victory.
After the game, Grizzlies coach Tom Watson praised his team’s performance.
“We came into this game wanting to set the tone early, and the boys executed brilliantly. Defensively, we were locked in, and holding a team scoreless in a quarter is a testament to their focus. Offensively, we played unselfish basketball, and it showed on the scoreboard. It’s a great win, but we’ll keep pushing to improve.”
