THORNS DEFEAT GRIZZLIES

In the Grizzlies U14’s first game of the NWRL season, the team took on a strong Barrow Thorns team that had made the long trip down to Congleton from Cumbria.

The game started brightly with both teams’ defences keeping scoring to a minimum, but it was Barrow who looked the more dangerous and began to pull ahead in the 2nd quarter.  The Grizzlies kept going though and were able to close the gap through some promising team play, showing their progress under Head Coach Tom.  But Barrow held firm and showed their experience to take the game away from the Grizzlies, closing out the game 27-61.

MVP: Elliot Wragg

MVP went to Elliot Wragg for a high-energy performance pulling the strings as point guard and taking some neat baskets.
